Bridging the Gap

 

Together, we can further the Foundation’s mission to bridge the gap between hope and opportunity by educating and enriching the lives of those affected by transplantation. At the third annual Celebrate Life gala, presented by Care Dx, Piedmont Transplant Institute, and Emory Transplant Center, we have the privilege of honoring:

​

• Transplant surgeon, Dr. David Vega, and his personal transplant connection through his niece, Abby Bacho, who saved the lives of five people as an organ donor.

• Bill Backus, heart transplant recipient and two-time GTF Board President.

• Transplant nephrologist, Dr. Eda Hochgelerent, and kidney transplant recipient, Melissa Carter.

 

All proceeds benefit the Georgia Transplant Foundation.
